The history of Sicilian confectionery tradition is right here in this Liberty-style factory for the production of sweets, fine dragées, conserves, chocolates and granita. Its façades, large interiors with their columns and arches, high frescoed ceilings, furnishings and mementos are all original. The inventor of cigarette-shaped sweets, it has been winning honours since 1915, and its illustrious patrons have included the writer Di Maggio and the historian Giarizzo. Painstaking restoration in 2004 turned it into a perfect tea room, with a chocolate and cake shop, and a unique venue for events. The establishment is run by Katia and the proprietor, Gaetano Finocchiaro, who is also a partner in the Dolfin SpA international confectionery group.
