The creation of the court chocolate-maker Enrico Rivoire, who left Turin and opened a chocolate factory opposite Palazzo Vecchio when Florence became the capital of Italy. It is said he introduced the Florentine aristocracy to the delicacies of Savoy, and his descendants remained at the helm for a hundred years. In early twentieth-century style, it has maintained its superb original recipes, the lovely windows with gold lettering, the elegant classical room and the tables outside in one of the most beautiful squares in Italy.
