The essence of Venice. Where Casanova courted his ladies and Goldoni came as a boy. Patronised by Lord Byron, Gozzi, Parini, Pellico, Berchet, Foscolo, Goethe, and Rousseau. During the insurrection against Austria in 1848, it was the headquarters of the revolutionaries, and here the conspirators demanded the liberation of Tommaseo and Manin, who proclaimed the rebirth of the Republic of San Marco. Its splendid halls, fragrances and charm are those of tradition, created by the founder Floriano Francesconi – Florian to his friends.
