Run by the Raffetto-Corsiglia family for five generations, this is one of the last trattorie immediately inland in Liguria to have maintained its traditional cuisine. The little room of 1930 in the small building lower down has preserved the bar built by Pippo, with its original tables, chairs and mirrors, as well as caricatures of its illustrious patrons of those days. During the war, it catered both to resistance fighters and German soldiers, and it was a favourite of the actor Gilberto Govi, who founded the theatre in the Genoese dialect, the cyclist Bartali and the violinist De Barberi, who was permitted to play Paganini’s violin.
