Restaurant Caffé Poliziano
A fascinating, deluxe café-restaurant in the Art-Nouveau style in the heart of the town, with a balcony overlooking the splendid Valdichiana, it has been a hothouse of the cultural and intellectual scene, with poets like Carducci, Pirandello, Prezzolini and Malaparte. It was also much loved by Fellini. Painstakingly restored, it has been a gathering place ever since 1800 for tourists from the world over who come to enjoy the finest traditions of Tuscan mediaeval recipies.

Salon Fellini

Salon Fellini
In the enchanting Sala Grande of Caffè Poliziano in Montepulciano, the film director Federico Fellini used to enjoy sitting in the little lounge number two (the first on the left in the photo).
In August 1992, Fellini came, with his wife Giulietta Masina, to the Caffè as a special guest: he was to open the “I disegnatori de Il Grifo” exhibition of splendid original comic-strip drawings by Milo Manara, Danijel Zezelj, and Andrea Pazienza, as well as his own. Il Grifo is a historic magazine which has published the works of the finest comic-strip artists.
