The antique windows, floors, wall panelling, majolica stoves, furnishings, and paintings: all is just as it was. Even the cabin with the weigh station for the customs of Porta Comasina. This is one of the last, glorious taverns of Milan, the haunt of Arrigo Boito, Berto Barbarani, three generations of the Mondadori, Longanesi, Rizzoli, Pirelli, and Falck families, and Visconti, Callas, Malaparte, Buzzati, Pasolini, and Montanelli. Ho Chi Minh worked here in 1933, putting into practice the lessons of the great chef Escoffier. An exquisite blend of Milanese food and talk.
