Handed down from father to son for six generations, this is where Italy met the Hapsburg Empire, where horses were changed and mail collected. This was the point of departure for the legendary Alpine guides and fearless English lords on their way to conquer the Dolomite peaks. During the Great War, this was the headquarters of the Supreme Command with Generals Cadorna, La Croix and Beppino Garibaldi. Adored by Carducci, Stoppani and Buzzati, it has lost nothing of its great elegance or original charm, and it has preserved its traditional recipes.
