Niccolò Machiavelli, author of The Prince (dedicated to the father of Catherine de Medici) favoured this lovely ancient Inn during his exile from Florence. This was his retreat, a place where he would spend the day playing cards and eating the genuine style of Tuscan food which to this day is still being served.
