Café Platti
since 1875

Café Platti
A symbol of three eras, with a pastry room and elegant Louis XVI furnishings by Valabrega, a coffee room with a 1920s bar and a baroque stuccoed ceiling in pastel shades, and a room with Art Deco and rationalist overtones made after 1930. All, including the perfect window, splendidly restored. The founder of Fiat and the creator of Lavazza both stopped off here; Luigi Einaudi came to read and Cesare Pavese to write. For decades this is where students at the Liceo D’Azeglio, which spawned many of the top managers of Turin, came to celebrate the ritual of hot chocolate.
