Started up in Napoleonic times by Swiss confectioners and run by the same family since 1934, this is the keeper of Sarzana’s historic art of confectionery, including the “spungata sarzanese” and the typical “buccellato”. Set in an ancient palazzo in the historic centre, the pastry shop now incorporates a sixteenth-century open gallery where guests can enjoy not only tastings and fine cuisine, but also literary and musical events, including the annual international competition for young opera singers.
