In 1887, Tchaikovsky composed the first two movements of his Fourth Symphony in room 106, and D’Annunzio, who was almost a habitué when in financial straits, came when invited for the inauguration of the monument to King Victor Emmanuel II in front of the hotel. A fusion of Beau Rivage and Hotel d’Angleterre et Pension, it is now a gem with 53 luxurious rooms furnished with authentic Biedermeier furniture, with 100 windows overlooking Riva degli Schiavoni and Basilica della Salute. Meticulous restoration has recreated all its original allure.
