A characteristic and elegant beer-house, it was founded by the Austrian master brewer Otto Wipflinger, who was the first to produce, import and distribute Austrian and German beers, thitherto unknown in Italy, and served them with Tyrolean dishes. Set in the glorious 15th-century Palazzetto Navarrini Wipflinger and still run by the fifth generation of the founder's family, its elegantly decorated halls have witnessed the passage of some of the best in Italian culture and intellect since the Kingdom of Italy was proclaimed.
